Production Pt. 2

A producer and screenwriter are some of the most important people when it comes to creating a film. They have an innumerable amount responsibilities in order for the film to be at its best. A producer is a person who oversees film production. A producer has different responsibilities during different time periods of the production of the film. He/she works hard to raise investment and financing during the pre-production section of the film. While in the midst of all that, the producer organizes a creative team, reaches out to big name actors and producers. During the time of actual production, signs off on all of the crucial creative decisions, supervise all the production staff, and make sure the production is under budget. After the pre-production and production stage of the film next comes the post production. The producer still has a lot of work to do which can range of marketing plans, advertising and release.

A screenwriter is a writer who practices the craft of screenwriting. Screenplay is basically the script of a movie which includes scene directions and acting instructions. Screenwriters also have almost as many as responsibilities as the producer of the film. This person is responsible for the story and context of the film. By this, I mean that creating the story map and formatting everything together. Making sure that the script is the best it can be to its ability. This is the same person who is the producers screenplay's best advocate.

Before the knowing the differences between them, it is best to actually have some sort of idea of what exactly they are. Starting with exploitation film, it is a film intended to attract an audience by means of its sensationalist or controversial content. An independent film is a short film that is produced outside the major film studio system. Another common type of production is a small-scale. A small-scale production is the production of a commodity with a small plant size firm.

While a small-scale film is very easy to follow a large-scale film is organized by a specialized/expert team of people from various departments. Another difference between the two is that with large-scale there is absolutely no freedom of week is permitted. There is also a chance that there are unequal distributions of wealth/income. Small-scale films are filled with freedom of work are there is a direct/personal relationship between the employers and employees.

When it comes down to exploitation and independent films there is also a complete difference between the two. One of the main differences is their budget. Clearly exploitation films spend a larger amount of money on these films than independent films. Depending on the type of budget a film, the greater the outcome and the overall quality.

Independent filmmaking has a lot of benefits but on the contrary, it also has a fair amounts of negatives. Some the pros include becoming your own manager, your income is theoretically infinite, executive creative power and even the special opportunity to build a name for yourself in the industry; film industry that is. Unfortunately, with every good there is some bad involved. By this I mean not all the time independent filmmaking is not the best idea out there. For example, you have no type of professional support/aides. Another example is having all of the pressure of having potential failure or humiliation. Sure it could be a nice feeling when you're making all of the most important decisions, but the pressure may get to you and may mess with your head in a negative way. Also the crewmates and how everyone works collectively. Exploitation films always has someone behind the scenes to make sure that each person is punctual every time.

The 6 major film studios known to mankind consists of 20th Century Fox, Paramount Pictures, and Warner Bros. Continuing on with the rest of the list, Universal Pictures, Walt Disney Studios and Columbia Pictures also contribute to the top studios of all time. They each bring in millions of dollars each year.
